South West China: Chengdu - 140km - Leshan - 758km - Lijiang - 200km - Dali

This route goes through Sichuan province famous for spicy food and has many Tibetan villages, and Yunnan province, known for it's moderate climate, varied rock formations and tropical scenery (in the south). It's a mountainous route, although we'll see peaks of over 7000m the roads will not exceed 3500m. Yunnan province is known for it's cool temperatures due to a higher altitude.

South West China: Guiyang - 90km - Anshun - 157km - Liupanshui - 116km - Xuanwei - 206km - Xintian - 205km - Shilin - 80km - Kunming

colourful hills and rice terraces.

This route goes through Guizhou province, which has more minority ethnic groups

than any other region, and Yunnan province. It's a mountainous route and can have

a tropical feel around Guiyang and Liupanshui but gets cooler closer to Kunming.

South East Coast: Shanghai - 200km - Shaoxing - 88km - Shengzhou - 70km - Tiantai - 55km - Linhai - 100km - Yueqing - 40km - Wenzhou - 170km - Xiapu mud flats - 73km - Ningde - 104km - Fuzhou

This route goes from Shanghai, through Zhejiang province and into Fujian province. It's a varied route geographically and culturally. There will be more urban cycling, from Shaoxing to Linhai is mountainous, but there are also mudflats and flatter coastal roads.
